Consumed by millions of enthusiast around he world, tea has, adapted through different cultures. Long before Westerners would consider tea as an aristocratic beverage, the Chinese consumed tea primary for medicinal benefits. Also, it was used as a flavoring in soups or mixed with other ingredients which allowed many nomadic people to balance a diet which were low in vitamins but rich in fat.

Did you ever wonder what re the roots of word “TEA”?!

The various words used to be referred to tea were developed with the trade routes. The countries which tea was brought by sea route use words that begin with letter “T” – “tea” English, ”Tee” in German, “the” in French, “te” in Italian. All variations are borrowed from a Chinese dialect in Fujian Provence. On the other hand, countries to which tea was brought by overland route (Tibet, India, Iran, Russia) use words beginning with syllable “tch” or”ch” borrowed from the Mandarin “Cha” .

From here so our name Chai Tee, quality artisan tea brought from all around the world.

Every cup of Chai Tee is not only tasty, it is rich in culture. Every cup has a story.

One thing last as an ending note, did you know that the first shipment of tea reach reached Europe for the first time 1610 in Amsterdam, brought by a Dutch ship then exported to Italy, Germany and Portugal.

The first recorded sale of tea in England appeared in 1657, English merchant claimed to have sold tea at an earlier date but still no proof for it.
